Masterson’s Pub , nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , markets itself as a trendy “hipster” hangout , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment quickly devolved into an unforgettable, terrible experience. While the bar may present a friendly façade, what I found behind its walls was appalling and beyond comprehension .

From the moment I stepped inside , it was clear that cleanliness was not a priority at this establishment . The surfaces were tacky , and a foul smell of stale beer and neglected washrooms permeated the entire establishment . Smelling a mixture of urine , putrefaction and sickness . The serving zone , which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and refuse that looked like it had accumulated over weeks. The lavatory was in even worse condition — clogged , with a snapped lever and tiles smeared in what I can only assume was human waste .

Many customers have reported seeing bugs darting across the counter and traces of mice in the bar and house area . For a business that provides refreshments , these issues are completely unacceptable and raise serious concerns about the quality of anything they serve .
